[SALE] Batik of Java (Clothes), souvenirs that you have to buy if you visit Indonesia

Image
Batik is a special patterned fabric made using certain techniques (according to the type of batik). Initially, the name "batik" comes from the Javanese word "Ambathik" (Amba = wide , thik = point /dots  / matik = ma king   dots/point ), means that batik is made on a wide cloth with a pattern of connecting dots. Then the term "ambathik" was replaced by the word "bathik" until now better known as "batik". Allegedly batik originated from the era of the Majapahit kingdom in Java and was popular as a clothing trend among the people at that time. However, over time batik is not only found in Java, some regions in Indonesia also have batik with distinctive patterns such as Minangkabau batik, Minahasa batik, Aceh batik, and several other types. On October 2, 2009, UNESCO established Indonesian batik as a Humanitarian Heritage for Oral and Non-Cultural Culture (Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity). (source: wikipedia)
